With Flipmode (Flipped), OOGO & Aksel Aksel extend the journey of their EP Flipmode by inviting three artists they have followed and appreciated for years: Lazy Flow, Oskar and DON YAYA.
Conceived as an exploration of movement in all its forms, Flipmode moves between bass music, house, footwork, UK garage and Afrobeat influences, constantly balancing club energy with more organic textures. For this new version, the two producers gave all three artists complete freedom. Each of them naturally gravitated towards the track they wanted to reinterpret and bring into their own musical world.
Lazy Flow takes on SACÚDETE, keeping mainly the original vocals to build a hypnotic, resolutely dancefloor-driven version. Inspired by contemporary Latin American rhythms such as Tribal, Guarachero, Guaracha, Aleteo and Zapateo, he also brings in touches of Ballroom culture and the stripped-back efficiency of Chicago House.
Also drawn to SACÚDETE, Oskar offers a second interpretation, more hybrid and firmly rooted in bass music. He brings the track into his own world through deep basslines, percussive rhythms and minimalist melodies, with subtle touches borrowed from house and the UK scene.
DON YAYA, meanwhile, chose TO THE GROUND, naturally taking the track into his favourite territory with a groovy house reinterpretation strongly influenced by UK garage. A producer and DJ with a deep passion for the UK scene, he injects the track with his own energy and the club culture that runs through both his productions and DJ sets.
Three artists, three different ways of making these tracks their own and giving them a new life. With Flipmode (Flipped), OOGO & Aksel Aksel continue what has driven the project from the start: free, instinctive and boundaryless music, conceived as a playground for sharing and experimentation.
