Jumo, de son vrai nom Clément Leveau, est un producteur, compositeur et artiste visuel originaire d’Angers. Autodidacte, il développe un univers singulier mêlant musique électronique atmosphérique et expérimentations visuelles.
Repéré par Nowadays Records, il se fait connaître avec une série d’EPs et de singles, dont Aléa, Nomade, ou encore Ville. En 2021, il sort son premier album « Et le vent ? » où il collabore avec de nombreux artistes tels que Léonie Pernet, Pénélope Antena, Awir Léon ou Hyacinthe.
Son style, à la fois mélancolique et percutant s’affirme avec des morceaux comme L’Exode, Première Vie et Minuit qui illustrent son goût pour les textures sonores éthérées naviguant entre douceur et urgence.

Avec plusieurs millions d’écoutes sur les plateformes de streaming, Jumo s’impose comme une figure incontournable de la scène électronique française. Parallèlement à ses projets musicaux, il cofonde le collectif Cela, au travers duquel il explore les liens entre musique et arts visuels, renforçant ainsi son approche pluridisciplinaire.

Désormais, Jumo se tourne également vers la composition de musiques de films et de documentaires, apportant sa patte sonore unique à des projets cinématographiques. Il signe notamment les bandes originales des documentaires La Flamme Ukrainienne et Comme si j’étais morte, marquant une nouvelle étape dans son parcours artistique.
Toujours en quête d’innovation, il prend aujourd’hui un virage plus club, inspiré par la techno des années 90s et l’idm tout en continuant d’explorer les frontières entre musique électronique et narration visuelle.

Dans son premier single intitulé phili, Jumo nous fait part de sa nostalgie à travers des souvenirs de jeunesse, d’adolescence, rythmant le morceau tels des bribes ou des flashs un peu flous. Au fil de l’écriture, il s’attache à cette sensation où tous ces souvenirs, dans leur multitude finissent pas se mélanger, puis s’estomper, mais auxquels on essaie tous de s’accrocher un peu. La dimension poétique du morceau soulève cette nostalgie parfois mélancolique, notamment par l’utilisation de certaines sonorités (synthétiseurs et boîtes à rythmes de cette époque). Pourtant, la basse entêtante accompagnée d’un kick puissant, marquent une forme d’urgence heureuse, comme pour ne pas oublier.

Vivre les moments plutôt que se rappeler des souvenirs. tgthr, est né de cette réflexion. Inspiré par les sonorités et les textures des courants techno et house des années 90, tgthr mélange des sons bruts et organiques, marqués par les kicks saillants de la 909 et les textures saturées, parfois planantes du MS20. À l’image d’autres de ses morceaux (Et le vent ?, L’Exode, etc), celui-ci démarre par une longue montée progressive laissant place à un kick soutenu et une basse minimaliste où les éléments viennent s’ajouter les uns après les autres, allant de la mélancolie à l’euphorie, et laissant monter la tension jusqu’à la fin.

lula est un périple sonore de près de huit minutes, brut et cinématographique. Jumo l’a composé à l’image d’un road movie, inspiré notamment par le cinéma de David Lynch et par son film culte, Wild at Heart (Sailor & Lula). Le morceau se structure en trois actes : la première partie nous plonge dans une ambiance sombre et intense, à mi-chemin entre cold wave, post-punk et techno brute. Ensuite vient un long pont planant et déroutant, marqué par un lead déstructuré aux accents hard dance et gabber. C’est la transition qui laisse place à la lumière : le thème principal réapparaît, transformé, et porté par une nouvelle harmonie de basse. Le morceau s’élève alors dans une montée finale euphorique, libératrice, presque cathartique. Un souffle d’espoir au terme du tumulte.

sirens se compose de voix synthétiques qui se superposent progressivement, jusqu’à former un tout , pour devenir un seul thème hypnotique et enivrant, un cri doux et irréel qui nous ferait presque oublier qui on est et ce que l’on fait là. sirens, c’est le chant des âmes libres qui dansent, qui s’attirent et qui fuient une réalité parfois difficile, c’est l’écho d’un moment suspendu, entre un désir d’évasion et la peur de retomber. Comme dans la mythologie grecque, quand on écoute le chant des sirènes, on s’oublie, on se laisse porter, emporter.

Always seeking innovation, he is now embracing a more club-oriented direction, drawing inspiration from 90s techno and IDM while continuing to push the boundaries between electronic music and visual storytelling.

In his debut single titled phili, Jumo expresses his nostalgia through memories of youth and adolescence, weaving them into the track like fragmented flashes, slightly blurred. As the writing process unfolds, he becomes attached to this sensation of memories blending together in their multitude, gradually fading, yet clinging to them nonetheless. The poetic dimension of the track evokes a sometimes melancholic nostalgia, particularly through the use of certain sounds—synthesizers and drum machines reminiscent of that era. However, the persistent bass, paired with a powerful kick, conveys a sense of joyful urgency, as if to ensure these memories are never forgotten.

Living the moment rather than recalling memories — that’s the idea behind tgthr. Inspired by the sounds and textures of 90s techno and house, ‘tgthr’ blends raw and organic elements, driven by the sharp kicks of the 909 and the saturated, sometimes ethereal textures of the MS20. Much like some of my other tracks (Et le vent?, L’Exode, etc.), this one starts with a long progressive build-up, leading into a steady kick and minimalist bass. Layers gradually join in, shifting from melancholy to euphoria, steadily raising the tension until the very end.

lula is a raw, cinematic sonic journey lasting almost eight minutes. Jumo composed it like a road movie, inspired in particular by the cinema of David Lynch and his cult film, Wild at Heart (Sailor & Lula). The track is structured in three acts: the first part plunges us into a dark, intense ambience, halfway between cold wave, post-punk and raw techno. This is followed by a long, disconcerting bridge, marked by a destructured lead with hard dance and gabber accents. This is the transition that gives way to light: the main theme reappears, transformed and carried by a new bass harmony. The track then soars into a euphoric, liberating, almost cathartic final climb. A breath of hope at the end of the tumult.

sirens is made up of synthetic voices that gradually overlap to form a single, hypnotic, intoxicating theme, a soft, unreal cry that almost makes us forget who we are and what we’re doing here. sirens is the song of free souls dancing, attracting and escaping from a sometimes difficult reality, it’s the echo of a suspended moment, between a desire to escape and the fear of falling back. As in Greek mythology, when you listen to the song of the sirens, you forget yourself and let yourself be carried away.
