Chien Méchant
Chien Méchant
Chien Méchant are a brand new French electronic music duo. More and more active on social media, they’ve introduced themselves with their #DansLaNiche series – a collection of one minute short live videos filmed and recorded in their own studio.
These two high school friends give out a unique energy through their performances, mixing together psychedelic rock and jazz over electronic productions. Both shaped by their respective times spent in Paris and London, Gabriel and Facundo have a wide range of influences going from Todd Terje and Justice to Pink Floyd or Snarky Puppy. The vocals are spoken, sung and effected with lyrics both in French and English. They deliver these rich and complex compositions – often dancy sometimes trippy – wrapped under an ultra-energetic synth/drums live formula.
Their visuals, scenography and styling clearly show off and state a big influence coming from the movies, psychedelism and pop culture of the 70s/80s.
In 2020 they fall under the radar of Paris-based electronic music label Nowadays Records. Their first single “Disco Féroce” is released in May 2022 within the music compilation “Club Nowadays, Vol. 1”. Many shows follow, whether in Paris, in the rest of France, or abroad.
Their first EP and EP Extended are out now, with the hit songs “Crépuscule”, “Club de l’Ennui” and “Étoile Filante”.
