An initiative of Nowadays Records and DJ/producer KasbaH, joined by Bab, the Musique de Fëte collective celebrates an electronic scene inspired by the sounds of the Maghreb and the Middle East. Through a series of V/A and parties organized in Europe and the Maghreb, the key words are: Party, Dance, Conviviality, Sharing and Celebration.
The new compilation, Musique de Fëte, Vol. 5, with its rich Maghrebian and Middle Eastern influences, follows in the footsteps of previous volumes, blending traditional inspirations with electronic music.
Forward is a hybrid cultural initiative that blends electronic music, encounters, conversations, and performances, all in service of Toulouse’s club culture.
After one year of existence and around ten events warmly received by the public, Forward is proud to announce the release of its very first compilation, “FORW/ARD VOL1”, scheduled for September 29.
This compilation pays tribute to Toulouse house music through a retrospective of its diverse sonic aesthetics and its generations—past, present, and future.
With “euphoria”, Jumo tackles the madness of man's race to innovate and his climate-change policies. We look ahead without caring what we cause around us.
Euphoria is a fast-paced track, hammering out time mechanically like an unstoppable machine. Distant voices utter heart-rending cries, giving the impression of a suffocating world. However, the almost luminous main theme breaks the anxiety-inducing atmosphere, symbolizing an emerging awareness in the midst of chaos.
Inspired by the UK scene, the track throws down a big 138 BPM future house rhythm, saturated and dissonant bass, all counterbalanced by an almost cheesy R&B voice, singing a love ballad. Punchy, danceable and with a hint of second degree, BEN is an effective DJ set track, designed for fans of hybrid electronica and future garage.
"Marsupilami" is a track that explores one of the many facets of R1D1's musical universe, at the crossroads between groovy house and garage. Built around a handmade synth, sharp drums and deep bass, the track reflects a marked beatmaking influence, almost hip-hop in its approach to sampling and construction.
“Sirens” is the song of free souls dancing, attracting and escaping from a sometimes difficult reality, it’s the echo of a suspended moment, between a desire to escape and the fear of falling back.
As in Greek mythology, when you listen to the song of the sirens, you forget yourself and let yourself be carried away.
Patchworks' remix of Qui Ne S'arrête Pas is inspired by Haitian Kompa, a sensual, lascivious music full of mystery that he is particularly fond of. He explores a downtempo, groovy and danceable sound, carried by Caribbean and Latin textures.
With Phô Real, OOGO & Blanka juggle culinary winks and wordplay, laying down velvety Rhodes, percussive drums and hip-hop vocal chops. A track made for turntables, taken from the Club Nowadays compilation.
For this remix of Nuit Blanche, Mira Ló was inspired by the positive impulses associated with the return of the sun. She sought to convey this light through a warm, soothing ambience. The addition of the flute adds a poetic touch, an invitation to an inner journey.
