Marge

Is it bad? / Who? (CLUB NOWADAYS 046)

Marge was proudly born out of the opulent and effervescent scene that recently saw women take the decks by storm, at a time when female visibility in underground electronic music was finally establishing itself as a vital force. A committed DJ and sensitive curator, she crafts her sets as party spaces; spaces of empowerment and liberation, a way of breaking new ground, fueled by her own experiences in music. It’s this background that feeds her approach to the decks, turning them into a place of total expression.

For Marge, making people dance is also about highlighting the strength of queer and female communities, which carry within them a creative energy and an inspiring resilience. It is about honoring the scenes where she first started, allowing them to shine, and defending them with integrity.

Navigating between the scorching grooves of the Brazilian underground, hybrid club rhythms, and electric textures, Marge does not just aim to move bodies: she tells a story, designing her shows like a live concert, blending a carefully crafted experience with a sense of liberated improvisation. She seeks meaning, drawing as much from her personal history as from the intensity of the nights she has experienced around the world, which have nurtured her ear, her vision, and her way of approaching nightlife as a universal language.

She also draws this approach from her childhood: raised by a bassist father, Marge grew up surrounded by the sound of groove, the warmth of instruments, and an insatiable musical curiosity. From a very early age, music became a natural language, a playground of emotion that she explores today behind the decks and, more recently, through her own productions with the same instinctive passion.
